Self Correction vs Self criticism

Writer: Karmen MoxieKarmen Moxie

Say it with me, nah! TGIF! Thank Goddess Im Foxy! Ladies night for me. I MISS my girls bc i have been on the road. It will be nice to be surrounded in all Feminine energy.

Raise your hand if the first thing you do is criticize yourself when things go wrong. I do that an awful lot, Foxys. "If only I would've reacted this way... or said it that way... how could I have been so stupid..." I was just doing it last night over a mistake I made (come to find out, it wasn't my mistake after all) with an acquaintance via WhatsApp. There was an obvious misunderstanding, and I fumbled the ball.

I spent a good part of the night overly criticizing myself to the point of feeling guilty and sad, which led to me spiraling into a whirlwind as I dredged up and reflected on every mistake I have ever made in the past. Thank Goddess for my new audiobook "Self Discipline: The Neuroscience" by Ray Clear.

I listened intently over my coffee as he began to discuss the importance of self-correction. Mistakes are inevitable, naturally. We are going to need a lot of patience with ourselves. The way I was speaking to myself was not self-correcting. It's so easy to fall into bad habits that hurt us, without even knowing that we are doing it, especially if we have a history of not loving ourselves the way we should. It's a loving, learning process. What audiobooks are you listening to this weekend? Whatever you're doing, let's all have a fantastic weekend. See you on Self-Care Sunday.
