Happy Sunday Self Care Sunday, Foxys. I am spending a cozy day at home, serving full facial detox, mask, steam, etc. And for the soul, I am listening to a YouTube video about being a self-sufficient woman. I thought it was quite interesting that the characteristics of a self-sufficient woman are often considered being "hard." I've always agreed with that definition until listening to this video.
I am not hard, nor masculine. But I am soft and sufficient. I am independent, and I also need others. Sometimes we subconsciously begin to believe what others say about us, especially if they're someone we love. We tend to have our guard down and respect their opinion. But they're just human, and they are speaking their truth based on the world.
That's why self-care is so vital; it gives us time to shut out the world and connect with ourselves. The more connected we are, the less anyone else's opinion can penetrate the truth we already know about ourselves. And this Self-care Sunday just connected me back to a piece of who I really am: soft and sufficient.
